Smooth stucco needs a patch that disappears
Many of the stucco finishes out here are fine and smooth, which is unforgiving. A patch that is close but not matched reads as a square from the driveway, so each repair gets opened, filled and then worked until the texture carries through into the wall around it. Hairline cracking and water damage get traced back to where the moisture is getting in before anything is filled. The finish is sprayed and back rolled, which pushes the coating down into the texture instead of leaving a film across the top of it.
Ridge top wind and salt come at the house from every side
Newport Coast sits high with very little between the houses and the water, so onshore wind carries salt onto elevations that would be sheltered anywhere else.
